Tidball Barger Band

Tim Tidball on the origins of the Tidball Barger Band-
“At first, it was just a couple of guys with guitars playing songs that really called for banjos and fiddles. It didn’t take long for us to stretch out and start exploring songs by artists that exploited vocal harmonies, like the Louvin and Everly Brothers. We’re both having a great time sending songs back and forth to work up “the next time we get together.” This has resulted in a big book of songs for us to choose from. As we were packing up our gear after a recent show at the Foundation Gardens, an audience member stopped to thank us, and said: “I don’t think I’ve ever heard a set that included Bill Monroe and Prince!” We take great pride in our varied repertoire, that continues to expand. Folks in our “following” are always treated to a couple of tunes they haven’t heard us do before. I am exceedingly grateful that our paths crossed like they have, and to Randy for encouraging me to get out of the basement and start playing and singing again! “
